Biography

Magda Popeanu has lived in the borough of Côte-des-Neiges – Notre-Dame-de-Grâce for many years and has been Projet Montreal's president since 2006. As candidate for Projet Montreal in the district of Côte-des-Neiges in 2005, she garnered 16 % of the vote. Despite her involvement in the administration of the party for the last years, she found time to develop and analyse City of Montreal governance and create a seminar on the topic. The introduction of a proportional ballot, socioeconomic and political integration of cultural communities as well as sustainable urban development are her main preoccupations. Ms. Popeanu has a bachelor's degree in electronics as well as a diploma in intervention and technical and professional education. She has worked since 1993 as a professional education teacher for the Marguerite-Bourgeoys school board.
